Unicorn Dress

Blue is my all-time favourite colour. I’ve never been a pink person even when I was little, I rarely wear pink (especially pastel pink.)

My closet is full of blues, so whenever I see a pink fabric that I actually like, I try to buy it as it doesn’t happen often.

This unicorn fabric was one of them! I really liked that it's not a solid pink.

Fabric: Double gauze from Japan

Pattern: Simplicity 1873 Cynthia Rowley Collection

Pattern Alterations and Adjustments: Nothing major, some small adjustments such as the depth of neck opening, the length of shoulder, width of bodice, sway back adjustment. I've also added in-seam side pockets and gathered the skirt.

This time I tried to remove gaping from neckline using a method that was shared on bernie and I.

It worked pretty well! Yay for talented sewing bloggers who are very kind to share helpful tips!

I happen to have a perfect unicorn necklace to go with dress!

It's very pink and I'm not used to wearing such a pink dress... but I think I like it! It’s always fun to try something that’s slightly outside of my comfort zone.
