Silver Embroidery Bag
Have you heard of Lulu Guinness? It’s a UK brand that makes gorgeous bags and wallets.
They used to make embroidered handbags and wallets that I’ve been eying on, but before I can purchase one, I think they stopped producing those collection.
One of the items I wish I purchased at the time, was their embroidered pouch. It was black fabric and had silver embroidery of skylines of cities like London and NYC.
I don’t think Lulu Guinness has a Canadian online store/store locations, they were hard to get.
So I deiced to make a clutch bag that is inspired by those pouches!
I dod’t know why, but I’ve alway liked romantic (or whimsical) town scape and skyline prints.
With this bag, what I had in mind was that it’s a night after the town goes to sleep. It’s quiet and dark, with twinkling stars above the town.
I did a super rough sketch for this one and just started stitching!
I used metallic silver embroidery froth from DMC. It was a bit thicker than a regular embroidery froth.
There’s a puppy who’s still awake…
The lining fabric is purple bow print cotton.
I had some star buttons in my stash that were perfect for this!
Although I did a rough sketch on a paper, I couldn’t draw on this black satin fabric, so I had to do a freehand stitching. It was tricky but I’m very happy with it!
