Japan 2016

This was my view everyday for the 18 years I lived at my parents' house! I'm pretty lucky that I get to call this my hometown.

Every time when I go back to Japan, I have to make a couple of visits to my favourite ramen shop in my hometown. It’s favourite Ramen shop in the world!

I tend to like ramen that are more traditional and simple, and their food is just like that, with lots of flavour.

BBQ eel is also a must. So good! A little pricy because eels are rarer, but if you're in Japan, please try the freshly grilled eel.

Aside from seeing my family and friends. food is our top priority in Japan, especially seafood! Must eat all the seafood while I'm in Japan.

But we do more than going to restaurants. This time, we went to Fuji Speedway!

They were having a racing festival at Fuji Speedway!

My husband was pretty exited about this as he's raced this circuit a lot in video games. Race cars are so powerful, watching them in action this close was so exciting.

This is Tagonoura Bay. My dad’s favourite biking route.

These are called "Tetrapods" and one of their purpose is to prevent coastal erosion.

We also took a day trip to Hakone with my family, hoping to see some foliage scenes.

First my dad took us to a Soba noodle shop in Hakone.

Owakudani Volcanic valley. There was an eruption not too long ago, so we couldn't go up any higher. But you can see the stream from the volcanic gas.

Owakudani black eggs. They're regular chicken eggs, only the shell turned black due to being boiled in hot sulphur spring. They say if you eat one, 7 years will be added to your life!

We always say that we’d just relax while we’re staying in my hometown, but them we end up doing and seeing (and of course eating) so many things!
