Grey Ponte Short Jacket

I've been wearing hoodies a lot during spring and fall the last few years. While there's nothing wrong with hoodies, I wanted something that goes better with my fit and flare type of dresses.

So this fall, I wanted to make two jackets. The first one I made was a denim short jacket, and I just finished making the second one!

The pattern I used is from this sewing magazine. Female 2010 Fall issue.

For this jacket, I used ponte knit fabric in grey. I love grey because it's not as heavy looking as black but goes well with everything like black.

I wanted a super simple look, so I even skipped pockets.

The back is simple and chic as well.

I added lining to the whole thing. It’s a little more time consuming but so much better to wear!

Turned out a tad bigger than I wanted to be, but I'm still happy with it.

I made these two cropped length jackets mainly to pair with dresses, so in spring, I think I need to make a longer length jacket for when I wear a shirt and jeans. But since Canadian winter is approaching pretty fast, I'm going to move onto making a coat next!

I have so many sewing and knitting projects I want to do this fall and winter, I need to start making a list!
