Mint Colour Dress

I wanted to make a dress to bring to our trip to Vancouver! I choose this double gauze fabric that I bought from Japan, paired with McCal’s M7115.

I love this colour and print. It looks like water drops, but it was actually named as jellybeans which is just as cute.

M7115 is a pullover dress/romper pattern with drop-waist and dolman sleeves. This time I went with a skirt and longer sleeves.

Drop-waist design is really cute but for someone who's 4'11" tall (yes, that's me), drop-waist style doesn't usually work so well. I've altered the bodice to be almost a natural waist and I think that worked on me much better.

I didn't use the pattern for the skirt, I used fabric width and cut out two pieces of rectangular.

I like the dolman sleeves because they're easy to sew and pretty comfortable to wear, but I think they're a tad too big on me. Next time I might go a size smaller or make the sleeves slightly narrower.

Mint colour dress

Over all I'm pretty happy. I can wear it in spring and summer but I can also wear it with tights during colder seasons. I particularly like the mustard colour tights combo.
