Lemon Stripe Willamette

This fabric is the same (but in a lighter colour) as the one I used for the Lemon Stripe Scout Tee.

I made yet another Willamette shirt with it, and this one is almost exactly the same as the one I made two years ago.

I still had some left over fabric to make another shirt, so I donated the older one and made myself a brand-new one, in a different size.

Pattern: Willamette Shirt by Hey June Handmade

Fabric: Cotton lawn from Japan

This pattern and light-weight cotton lawn combo make a really breezy, cool shirt.

I find regular shirt collars with a collar band pretty hot in summer, but this type of flat open collar is much more comfortable even in a hot weather!

Willamette has dolman sleeves which makes it even more breathable.

I re-drafted the hem curve just a little bit. Nothing wrong with the original, just a design preference.

What I really like about Willamette is that because it has dolman sleeves with enough ease, you can make it a pullover shirt without any buttons.

I don’t enjoy hand sewing buttons, so this is a big bonus for me!

There are so many types and designs of collars out there. It might be a small difference, but it does contribute to the over-all design a lot.

Willamette’s collar got a pointy ends and is fairly big which gives the shirt more straight lines that is sharp and casual, I think.

This shirt is almost exactly the same as the older one I made before, the only difference is the size, but I think I made the collar a lot neater this time.

I used the method that is explained in the book, 『Joy of Sewing さぁ、縫おう』 by Moipon to finish the front facings. I love using this method as it finishes so clean and neat!
