Lemon Ebony T-Shirt

I felt pretty accomplished after updating my blog for three times last month, and yet it’s already mid August! Time really flies…

This lemon T-shirt I’m sharing today was done in March. I went back to Japan in April and I needed some half sleeve clothing for the trip (April in Japan can get pretty warm, compared to Canada.)

I used my tried and true T-shirt pattern from Closet Core Patterns: Ebony T-shirt and Dress pattern.

My first one had the dress length with 3/4 sleeves. This time, I went with view C which has short raglan sleeves and a cascading hem (longer on the back.)

The fabric is by Art Gallery Fabrics and it’s called “Yuma Lemons”.

This print comes in two types of fabric: cotton (I think it’s quilting weight cotton) and knit. This print has been out for a few years now and the cotton one is so hard to find in Canada.

Luckily I was able to tracked down some knit on a Canadian online fabric store, Funky Monkey Fabrics.

I’m so happy with how it turned out! It’s so cute and so summery!

Here are some things on the pattern that I changed:

  • Took off about 3cm on the back hem length (to make a less dramatical cascading hem)

  • Made sleeves smidge wider (about 1-2cm)

  • Lengthened sleeves by 3cm

This has quickly become my warm weather favourite! It’s swingy and is pretty cute to throw on a pair of pants!
