Easter Coloured Socks
As some of you might already know, I work for a local yarn shop (lucky, right?!)
We usually have our staff Christmas party in January, as December is a busy month for the shop. (Although it’s hard to say what our holiday season is going to be like this year…)
I can’t remember if this was from last year or the year before, but I got a lovely sock yarn as gift exchange at the staff Christmas party!
It’s from Coloring Book Yarns, 80/20 merino wool and nylon self-striping yarn.
The colourway is called “T.V.”
The soft purple, pink, yellow, and mint remind me of Easter time.
I used a different semi-solid for the cuffs, heals, and toes. The beautiful semi-solid purple is from Polka Dot Creek and it’s their Classic Sock Mini in Lilac.
It’s a tiny 20g skein which is perfect to do cuffs, heals, and toes in a contrasting or coordinating colour. The purples aren’t exactly the same, but I think it’s kind of cute this way too!
I’m usually not a pink (or a purple) person, but I think this colour combo is really pretty.
The pattern I used is:
Vanilla Sock with Gusset & Choice of Heel by Jo Torr
This is a toe-up pattern which I really like, and it seems to fit my feet well.
I usually use 2.25mm and cast on 20 stitches, and increase them to 60 stitches.
I’ve been knitting some socks this summer, since I don’t feel like knitting a garment during hot months. It’s nice to grow my hand-knit socks collection!
I always feel so awkward to take photos of my feet! But I think these socks deserve some modeling shots!
