Changes are coming!
Hi everyone!
A lot happened in 2024, to myself, to my close circle, and to the world. I can only hope that the new year will bring better news. (A lot of good things also happened and I’m very grateful!)
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been reading this blog all these years. There are going to be some changes to my blog in the new year!
Downsizing the blog
This blog has started as sewing and knitting blog, with some additional topics like fragrances, games, and books along the way. Taking photos of my makes (sewing and knitting) and writing about them in two languages takes quite bit of my time. In truth I’d rather spend that time actually sewing, knitting, gaming, reading, and being with my loved ones.
So what does “downsizing the blog” mean? Instead of writing about sewing / knitting that requires lots of photos, I’ll be focusing on books and games (and maybe fragrances.) And I will probably stick with just one language—Japanese; but I haven’t made up my mind about the language 100% just yet.
Moving platform
I’ve been using Squarespace circa 2016 but with their recent price increase, I think I will try other blogging service. (For a context, I’ve never made any money from blogging, it’s been purely a hobby. So if I’m blogging less, it just makes sense to use something more affordable.)
But no worries! The URL will stay the same and ayabuttons.com should automatically redirect you to the new blog. Just the aesthetic of the blog will likely change.
That being said, these changes are not set in stone. There maybe a day when I want to share about sewing and knitting again in the future. Who knows!
But for now, I feel good about spending less time blogging (and less time on social media in general.)

Maybe I’ll continue to see some of you, but even if I don’t, hopefully I’ll see you again somewhere sometime.
